Mt. Bachelor
With a base elevation of 6300', Mt Bachelor offers the highest base elevation in the Cascades. Paired with its location on the eastern side of the Cascade Crest, the result is consistently high quality snow not typically found in the Pacific Northwest. 462" of snow falls during an average year. If powder is what you crave, you will be likely to find it at Mt. Bachelor. Mt. Bachelor is skiable 360° from it's summit with 4,318 acres of terrain (6th largest in the USA), making it the ideal spring skiing destination as the weather clears and the snowpack is deep. Bachelor has the biggest fleet of groomers in the Northwest, laying down buff corduroy during 2 shifts a night. For the more adventurous, Bachelor is famous for its long tree runs, back bowls, and above-treeline skiing. Add copious amounts of uphill capacity from a modern lift network, remarkably light crowds, and one of the premier ski areas in the United States is only 25 minutes from your front door in Sunriver.
